The NOT so funny thing is that they are in the same market, same field, same time frame, and same concept.

A copycat is a person that mimics or repeats the behavior of another. The term is often derogatory, suggesting a lack of originality. The expression may derive from kittens that learned by imitating the behaviors of their mothers. – Wikipedia

Plagiarism: The abuse of another’s original work by copying it and passing it off as one’s own. As defined in Alastair Campbell book titled The Designer’s Lexicon. Page: 293 ISBN: 0-304-35505-4.

Nutty professor

Client: Hyundai

Kuwait

Client: Family Care

Kuwait

This is yet another example of 100% investment in media space and 0% investment in a concept; Again all the ads come from Kuwait. One is for Hyundai automotive and  the others for underwear to resist the winter cold from inside :) they were published in the same time frame. I wonder what is so special about the character featured in both ads. It is a clip art after all.

Hundai-Family Care2

Client: Q8 Online

Kuwait

This is another nutty professor clip art for a Kuwait based ISP

Clip art, in the graphic arts, refers to pre-made images used to illustrate any medium. Today, clip art is used extensively in both personal and commercial projects, ranging from home-printed greeting cards to commercial candles. Clip art comes in many forms, both electronic and printed. However, most clip art today is created, distributed, and used in an electronic form. Since its inception, clip art has evolved to include a wide variety of content, file formats, illustration styles, and licensing restrictions. Clip art is generally composed exclusively of illustrations (created by hand or by computer software), and does not include stock photography. source: wikipedia.

Crazy lazy

Clinent: Al Ghanim industries (Chevrolet – Daewoo – Opel and Daewoo)

Agency: Impact & Echo BBDO

Country: Kuwait

All of the featured ads for Chevrolet, Daewoo, Opel and Mountain Dew are using the same stock photo!!! same headline by the same agency in the same  market at the same time frame!!!

Shouldn’t advertising differentiate one brand messages from another?!!

Stock photography consists of existing photographs that can be licensed for specific uses. Publishers, advertising agencies, graphic artists, and others use stock photography to fulfill the needs of their creative assignments. A customer who uses stock photography instead of hiring a photographer can save time and money, but can also sacrifice creative control. – Wikipedia.

ANUBIS was a very old god of the ancient Egyptians, universally worshipped throughout the land and became considered the gatekeeper and ruler of the underworld; the “Guardian of the veil“ he was “Lord of the Cleansing Room” and the opener of the roads of the North. “He observed the weighing of the deceased’s heart against the feather of Maat [Truth] and reported his findings to the jury of the gods.
