The above ad was published in Arab Ad “Leagally 21″ special issue, August 2008, Vol. 18, No. 8, Page: 63.
I don’t know which is more interesting; the fact that JWT Kuwait are misleading the readers of Arab Ad with this ad or that Arab Ad got mislead into publishing this misleading ad?
Mathematical fact:
Last time I checked 48 (won by Paragon – Kuwait) was still more than 17 (won by JWT – Kuwait).
For the record:
The following is the breakdown of the awards won by Paragon Marketing Communications Kuwait in just Seven years:
1- Kuwait Arabic Creativity awards = 14
2- The International Summit creativity awards = 24 (including a best of show grand prix and the first gold ever from the Middle East)
3- KREA (Kuwait Rewards Excellence in Advertising) = 9
4- Kuwait first CSR award (Corporate Social Responsibility)
5- Dubai Lynx = 2 (shortlists)
6- MENA Crystal = 1 (shortlist)
Reminder:
Even though some of JWT Kuwait work is really good, original and deserved to win; however many of the awards won by them (JWT Kuwait) are a result of copy cat advertisements, clichés and spoofs . Examples of these ads are listed right here on this blog
and if the rumor is true then they are about to be stripped off one of their awards due to evidence of copy cat.
