All of the the above fake watches were advertised in a single issue of Al-Daleel weekly Kuwaiti newspaper, Issue 296. they also offer free delivery.

Anyone for Intellectual property? anyone? what about you sir in the back? No.

Well if the advertising industry is tolerating copycat ads so should the watches industry ;)

Perhaps one day (soon) we will see a convergence of merchants selling fake watches with copycat ads.

This is an example from Lebanon where the elections seasons was used for the advertisers message. other clients in other Arab countries should have the same courage for creative expression.

Louai: Superman, I should have finished you off years ago when i had you in my hand.

Superman: its too late now, i have sent in the biggest bird brains to bring you down. I will never forgive you for stealing the heart of my beloved Wonder Woman.

Adam from Media Week must have confused me with someone els as I never “proposed a moratorium on Ramadan ads featuring the crescent moon or the lantern”. the fact is that I used the crescent moon in different ways for a number of my clients for their Ramadan ads; in fact one of them got shortlisted in the first Dubai Lynx.

My stance on the use of the crescent moon as well as the example of us using it is documented and widely debated on  adblogarabia post titled iCity celebrates Ramadan

Great way to get back at plagiarizers. The name and shame approach is working. there was a similar promotion in Kuwait back in the 90′s where a free sheep was offered with the purchase of a pick-up truck during the month of Ramadan.

ANUBIS was a very old god of the ancient Egyptians, universally worshipped throughout the land and became considered the gatekeeper and ruler of the underworld; the “Guardian of the veil“ he was “Lord of the Cleansing Room” and the opener of the roads of the North. “He observed the weighing of the deceased’s heart against the feather of Maat [Truth] and reported his findings to the jury of the gods.
