    Dear Hussam,
Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I have already corrected the agency name as well as adding the name of the designer and all the information pertaining to one of the books which the logo was published. Although the book was first published in 2002 that does not mean that the logo was created in 2002. As you already know many books feature logos created many years prior to being featured anywhere. I do acknowledge the fact that such coincidences can and do happen that is why I have not stated if one was original or that the other was a copy. I have made this site as an interactive blog where professionals such as yourself can shed light on such instances. Thank you for your support on making this site a valuable source of information and i look forward to your comments on other posts and issues pertaining to the industry as well. after all that is one of the objectives of the IAA which you and I are members of and I look forwared to personally meeting you in the upcoming IAA Ramadan Ghabka on the 9th of Septemeber, 2009 at 9:00 pm at the Palams (ivitations are still beaing prepared) and you will get yours as soon as they are ready.

    Dear Louai,

It is worth noting that this logo was never made under TBWA’s or RaadAfyouni’s name, this logo was developed under Alpha Boushahri’s and I know the graphic designer who did it very well since he is still a colleague and a good friend and I was actually sitting next to him during this process.

Having said so, I would like to add that if there is any resemblance to the logo portrayed above then it would be restricted to the drop. Also the drop we developed is slightly curved wherein the one you are showing and assuming that we copied isn’t. This is truly not worth mentioning since there are hundreds of logos that use the iconic representation of liquid by drawing a drop (tear) shape.

In future I would suggest you running similar things by us for authentication and review before posting it on your blog, we would gladly cooperate in making your site a valuable source of information. Could you also please provide the source of your logo and the date of its creation? We created ours around 12 years back, it would be interesting to find out the date of powerpetro’s brand creation and history.

    Thank you and best regards,
